“Our proposal of wafer belt conveyors really hit the target,” said Gianluca Aloisi, Conveyors Division Manager, Montech. By outsourcing the belt conveyors, the suppliers of turnkey solutions or wafer and solar cell processing equipment can turn a variable into a fixed cost. And at the same time they have acquired specific development and manufacturing know-how. According to Aloisi, another benefit is the optimization of the supply chain, mainly resulting from greater flexibility to handle urgent deliveries and capacity peaks. With its wafer belt conveyors, Montech offers tailored solutions for the specific products and processes of the solar industry.

Synchronized belts
A key element for belt conveyors is the perfect synchronization of movements, according to Aloisi, which is guaranteed by the wafer belt conveyors supplied by Montech. The solution consists of a chassis with two belts, where possible wafer debris can be discharged through the open gap between the two belts. The wafer conveyor can be used in wet and dry processes. The whole structure can be assembled and dismantled from above.

Adapting to requirements
Thanks to its modular concept, the belt conveyor can be tailored to the specific needs of each user in terms of length and width. The conveyor structure can also be selected freely and adapted to each machine individually. The motor plates are adapted to the drive type.

Belt or toothed pulley
The conveyor can be supplied complete with belt or toothed pulley. Once installed, replacement is quick and easy both for belt and for toothed pulley models. The belt conveyor for wafers with toothed pulley allows to achieve high accelerations.

Intralogistic solution
For intralogistics upstream, downstream and between machinery, the Montrac transport system offers an optimal solution, says Yves Dicke, Montrac Division Manager, Montech: “Smooth and soft transport, independent control and maximum flexibility guarantee a perfect handling of the wafer trays.”
