Mikrover is pure, ground recycled glass. It is produced through fine grinding and in the conditioning process developed by Dennert Poraver GmbH. As a pozzolanic hardening additive Mikrover reacts in all cement and lime based building materials with the calcium hydroxide released during the hydration of the cement and forms cement like C-S-H phases. This makes mortar and concretes more resistant to a-cid attacks, provided that in the presence of water the reactions with calcium hydroxide can proceed. The precisely determined grain sizes and fractions lead to a significant improvement of the properties of all mi-neral building materials such as plaster, mortar, concrete, tile adhesives and other construction-chemical products. The Poraver-acoustic plaster is distinguished by its open pore structure allowing for the penetration of sound. In the process the excess energy of the air vi-brations transforms into thermal energy, which sustainably improves the acoustics that in turn increases the surface temperature. That’s how two advantages can be achieved at the same time. To ensure this type of sound absorption, the active aggregate can only be cemented into the plaster in a “punctate manner”, or else a sound reflection would otherwise take place. The high strength of the aggregate Poraver allows for the sufficient stability of the finished product.
In the manufacturing of noise reduction products many well- known companies in the acoustic construction field depend on the positive characteristics of Poraver expanded glass granulate. For example, worldwide, several hundred square meters of acoustics paneling containing Poraver aggre-gate are installed daily.
The new Poraver-Insulation Plaster is characterized by its extremely low density and good compression strengths (greater than 1 N/mm²). The mineral and permeable plaster has a high thermal insulation capacity (λR-values < 0.1 W/mK) that is further enhanced by its very easy handling and process-ing properties. A very low modulus of elasticity and low-tension behavior helps to prevent cracking. The new Poraver-insulation plaster can be used in both ex-terior and interior applications due to its mineral composition and natural white color.
