HOUSTON, TX — (Marketwire) — 03/13/13 — Generon IGS has successfully avoided rising U.S. unemployment trends while gaining world leadership in markets it serves.

The company-s Houston headquarters, where industrial gas solutions are a strength, continues to ignore more than four years of 7-to-10-percent national unemployment.

In less than four years, employment at the Houston base has grown by a robust 75 percent. The facility is adding people at more than an 18-percent annual rate.

That growth has created an immediate need for a Houston-based project engineer with at least five years of experience. The successful candidate will take responsibility for coordinating and executing all technical activities for assigned projects. Those duties require planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating engineering work.

Other responsibilities will call for monitoring work for code compliance and accepted engineering practices as well as checking and approving designs/drawings/documents for submittal. The project engineer must also establish and ensure effective communication and coordination of projects with associates in other Generon IGS departments.

The successful candidate will also meet these requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience;

AutoCAD or design software experience;

Experience in structural, piping systems or instrumentation;

Experience with multiple-discipline tasks or projects;

Skill in Microsoft Suite.

Salary range is $75,000-$100,000. Compensation includes a package of outstanding benefits.

The top candidate will be assigned to the Generon IGS Houston engineering and manufacturing facility. The site is ISO 9001-certified.

At this plant, Generon IGS designs and manufactures packaged and skidded equipment, multi-level processing systems, primary and post compression packages and offshore containers. The company carefully plans and turns out each product compliant with customer requirements.

The Houston facility has also earned DNV offshore container certification. That product line includes nitrogen and compression systems, which Generon IGS packages for safe and hazardous areas.

The growing site-s other products include nitrogen generators, instrument air systems, oxygen generators and gas compression systems, desiccant air dryers and gas separation systems.

As Generon IGS growth increases, so do openings for other skilled people. Its current needs include qualified sales representatives with a background in compression.

In addition to its 27-acre Houston facility, the company maintains nine other locations across North America, Europe and Asia. The global company sustains growth in many other specialties: oil and gas recovery, refining and distribution; marine and shipping; food and beverage operations; natural gas compression and transmission; mining; metallurgy, chemical processing; and medical and pharmaceuticals.
