The demand for Android in the area of mobile printing applications is increasing. Seiko Instruments meets this demand and offers an Android Software Development Kit (SDK) for the mobile printer series DPU-S245 and DPU-S445. The printers are connected with the Android (version 2.3.4 onwards) driven device via USB or Bluetooth®. The Android SDK offers the following options: – handle simple data types – send text or binary data – set international character codes – obtain printer status The series operates with printing speeds of 100mm/s (DPU-S245) and 90mm/s (DPU-S445). One battery charge lasts for up to 20.000 lines. The printer can be securely fastened on a belt by using a carrying case (optional). The mobile printers operate with thermal paper and labels. The following fields of applications are using the DPU-S: field sales, service technicians, logistics, measuring devices and medical applications, among others.
