Router and fault monitor rolled into one device: IMO-1 from INSYS icom

August 03 17:00 2012

INSYS icom have introduced the IMO-1 GPRS router and fault monitor. It can be used to continuously monitor the inputs and outputs on any digital control device such as PLCs or RTUs. It can also continuously monitor all Siemens Logo! -objects- as well as the two digital inputs of the IMO-1. Users can define any number of text messages and emails with individual text and values to be sent for each event.

The status of the monitored values can be viewed in the embedded web interface and can be accessed both locally and via the GPRS network. As a GPRS router IMO-1 provides transparent remote access to local networks and serial devices, it is therefore capable of monitoring a complete network.

IMO-1 ensures optimal data security using safe and easy VPN connections via the INSYS Connectivity Service providing unrestricted access to the web interface and all devices in its network. The integrated Linux safe sandbox environment with 150 MB of permanent memory enables the user to develop proprietary applications such as data logging and analysis, protocol conversion or simple control tasks. The IMO-1 is a robust DIN rail-mounted industrial device suitable for all plant monitoring and remote access applications; precluding unnecessary and costly site visits and maximising production uptime. IMO-1 units will be available from September 2012.
