BOSTON, MA — (Marketwired) — 12/11/13 — and Sain Engineering Associates (SEA) today announced a strategic partnership to help identify and deliver massive energy efficiency saving opportunities to the U.S. Army and Navy. Through the agreement, SEA will use Retroficiency-s to deliver approximately 640 on-site energy audits at U.S. Army and Navy buildings in multiple regions around the world over the next year.

„The Department of Defense and branches of the armed forces such as the Army and Navy have been tremendous advocates for energy efficiency. Because of the large building footprint these organizations have, there is a huge opportunity for energy savings,“ said Butch Wallace, vice president, Federal Sustainability Group, SEA. „In addition to improving the energy audit process, Retroficiency will enable SEA to execute energy master planning in an easier, faster and more flexible way. This will offer a significant advantage for SEA as we focus on expanding our work in both the federal and corporate sectors.“

In 2012, the Department of the U.S. Navy announced ambitious energy goals to improve its energy security, increase energy dependence and help lead the nation towards a clean energy economy. One of the primary goals included making half of all Navy bases, stations and schools net-zero-energy by 2020.(1)

To continue to help the U.S. Navy achieve these goals, and to support the U.S. Army on similar energy efficiency initiatives, SEA will use , a software solution available on Retroficiency-s Building Efficiency Intelligence platform, to streamline data collection and management, energy efficiency measure evaluation and report generation. AEA enables users to perform comprehensive, accurate building audits in up to 80 percent less time and expense compared with equivalent traditional methods. SEA, an energy consulting firm and Inc. 5000 company, is currently conducting the audits and will complete the project by Q3 2014.

AEA will also support SEA in energy master planning by providing a more standardized, automated platform for long-term capital planning and project development at both the portfolio and building levels. It will allow SEA and its customers to easily explore opportunities for different projects across a portfolio, as well as to re-evaluate buildings for new opportunities over time.

„By embracing Retroficiency-s leading analytics and rapid energy modeling platform, SEA will be able to streamline their energy audit process, while also driving deeper insights into energy efficiency projects for customers,“ said Bennett Fisher, CEO and co-founder, Retroficiency. „We are excited to grow our partnership with such a highly regarded firm and look forward to helping them fully leverage our capabilities to benefit their customers across multiple sectors.“

Retroficiency () enables utilities and large energy service providers to drive deeper building energy efficiency savings in less time and at a lower cost. Its Building Efficiency Intelligence platform rapidly develops energy models that deliver insights and recommendations to help target buildings, engage customers, convert projects, and track opportunities more effectively and at scale. Retroficiency is trusted by leading organizations and has evaluated more than 400 million square feet of building space to identify more than 2 billion kilowatt hours of annual savings since March 2011.

Sain Engineering Associates, Inc. () provides comprehensive engineering consulting services with a focus on energy and water management. Some of these services include building commissioning, energy audits to identify low-cost and no-cost improvements, investment-grade audits to identify cost effective capital investment projects and ongoing Measurement and Verification.
