Multi-channel strain gauge measurements, such as in the field of structural analysis can be realized compact, dynamic and inexpensive with the new 8 channel module A116. The new module offers 8 freely configurable input channels for measuring bridges. The connection is made with full and half bridges in 3/4 wire or 5/6 wire to compensate cable influences. But also the connection of single strain gauges in quarter-bridge circuit, the influence of cable resistance by detecting the voltage loss in the cable is dynamically compensated. Thus, measurements with high cable lengths are possible. For internal bridge completion high-precision 120 ? or 350 ? resistors with a temperature coefficient of only 0.05 ppm / K are used. Temperature fluctuations have thus only a small influence. For every change in resistance in these resistors affects the factor 50 on the measurement result. A common requirement in multi-channel dynamic structural testing is an extremely good correlation among all channels. The maximum jitter between the measured values e.g. 300 channels is only 100 ns. The transducer excitation can be set to 2 VDC or 4 VDC. The input range can be optimally adjusted by two measuring ranges (1 mV / V or 5 mV / V) to the signal parameters. Without multiplexer 8 A / D converters provide each with 24-bit resolution for a data rate of 20 kHz per channel. Other features: shunt calibration, digital filter 4th order, min-/max-memory, accuracy class of 0.05.
