Polypreen is the manufacturer of many different foam materials and supplies to customers in many different application areas, such as mattress and furniture manufacture. As well as manufacturing foam material, Polypreen also produces different types of mattresses, from cold foam mattresses to inner spring mattresses and box-spring beds. Established in Holland in 1953, Polypreen moved to Lommel in Belgium in 1966. The first Bäumer machine, an IS vertical cutting machine, was purchased in 1972. This laid the foundation stone for many years of collaboration between the two companies. Polypreen grew continuously over the years, and invested in new Bäumer machinery time and time again. Holland was the most important sales area to begin with. The company‘s sales territory extended to Belgium, Germany, France and Denmark in the 1990‘s. Since 1992 Polypreen has been a profit centre belonging to the Mecaseat Group, a union that has proven to be extremely beneficial for the company. Because of the group background Polypreen can benefit from secure financial backing, and can also operate independently and expand. The latest development from the foam material manufacturer is an antibacterial foam. This provides a hygienic and allergy-free sleeping climate. Microbes (bacteria, mould and house dust mites) are physically deactivated with the aid of the ægis high-tech hygiene additive. The anti-allergenic protective shield is permanently incorporated in the foam material, and is harmless to man and the environment. Polypreen will continue to develop in the future in accordance with its motto „onvermoeibaar veerkrachtig – tireless and vital“. With regard to efficiency and automation, manufacturing modernisation is due to take place at the Lommel site in Belgium. In order to make further processing of the foam material more economical after foaming, Bäumer has been commissioned to provide a block storage system so that the blocks can be stored in a way that saves space in future. Another aspect is also that the blocks can be transported on conveyor belts, which cuts out work operations because they are not packed for transportation using the fork lift grippers until they have cured. A long-term partnership-like and trusting customer/supplier relationship is an important quality factor, and is the bond between Polypreen and Bäumer.
