PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA — (Marketwired) — 10/30/13 — Paladin Energy Ltd (TSX: PDN)(ASX: PDN) („Paladin“ or the „Company“) announces that, further to the Company-s October 3 announcement reporting a serious incident at the Langer Heinrich Mine in Namibia, which injured an employee and two contractors, it is with considerable regret that Paladin advises that the most seriously injured worker passed away today at Millpark Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa.
With regard to the other two contract workers involved in the incident, one has recovered completely and the other remains in hospital in Windhoek, Namibia, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Paladin extends its most sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and continues to support them through this difficult time.
A full investigation into this unfortunate incident is being finalised.
