INSYS icom“s versatile IMO series of GPRS fault monitors enables intelligent monitoring of PLCs and process data in industrial and building automation, measuring technology, energy management, and electromobility. The premium supplier of M2M technology now extends the product line, adding the new IMO-2 model and introducing new features for the IMO-1 model. Equipped with a LAN connection as well as RS485 and RS232 interfaces, the new IMO-2 integrates Modbus devices. Additionally, INSYS icom has completely revised the units“ monitoring function, adding a wide range of new features: they now reliably monitor all versions of the Siemens LOGO!TM PLC line, including 0BA7 (type IMO-1), Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU devices, and extended internal timers.
Thanks to their network capability and two serial interfaces, the units can now simultaneously monitor several devices. Via versatile logical linking of freely selectable elements, status values of connected devices can trigger actions, such as sending user-defined SMS messages or emails with current status values, or output switching. Incoming SMS messages or changes at the digital inputs can also be linked. By defining contact persons and using the integrated timers, users can implement cascading alarms. A status overview that has been optimised especially for several connected devices shows all selected elements of an application with their current statuses at one glance. IMO-1 and IMO-2 feature a web-based configuration interface that allows for remote access with optional VPN security. Furthermore, an integrated Linux sandbox enables users to implement their own applications.
Both fault monitors can be integrated into the INSYS Connectivity Service VPN solution via a quick start. An update is available for first generation IMO-1 devices, enabling them to use the new functional range with regard to the LOGO!TM 0BA7 PLC as well as the newly structured monitoring function.
