FSI Energy Group Inc. Appoints Two New Directors

CALGARY, ALBERTA — (Marketwired) — 12/04/14 — FSI Energy Group Inc. (FSI) (TSX VENTURE:FSI ) today announced the appointment of two new directors, effective December 4, 2014. Albert Deslauriers and Douglas Biles have been appointed to the FSI Board of Directors and will stand for re-election at the Company–s Annual General Meeting in May 2015. Mr. Deslauriers was also appointed Chief Financial Officer of the company.

Al has a financial and general management background with major public corporations in the Cement and Transportation industries including international experience working in Paris, France. Al holds a CGA designation and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Concordia University in Montreal. He has proven leadership skills involving managing, developing and motivating teams to achieve their objectives. With his first-class analytical, design and problem solving skills, Al has extensive experience in strategic planning and identifying and negotiating vertical integration opportunities.

Al retired from the Lafarge Group having spent 34 years in various senior financial management positions in Montreal, Paris, Edmonton and Calgary. Subsequent to Lafarge, Al spent five years as President of Cascade Carriers, a subsidiary of the Mullen Group. Cascade is a specialized carrier of dry bulk materials. Most recently, Al has been associated with several projects dealing with water purification and oil patch waste cleanup.

Doug has over 45 years of technical, operational and management experience within the upstream hydrocarbon industry. He has held positions of director, President, CEO and Chairman of companies in both the public and private sector, including international divisions of Kerr McGee. In particular, since 1999 Doug has served as the Executive Chairman of the Chinook Group, which consists of five private companies which supplies venture capital, professional operational and senior management personnel, and technical expertise to high risk petroleum and mineral projects in the Former Soviet Union, the Middle East, Africa and South and Central America. Prior to that, Doug was the CEO of a public company which obtained oil and gas leases in the Former Soviet Union and brought them into production. He holds a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a member of The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
