GRENOBLE, FRANCE and SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS, FRANCE — (Marketwire) — 10/12/11 — , the design-for-low-power company that delivers software solutions for power and thermal analysis at the architectural level, and (PACA Integrated MicroElectronics Center of the Provence Alpes Côte d-Azur region), a collaborative R&D platform in the field of communicating integrated system design, today announced they will offer its members access to Docea-s Aceplorer solution for their R&D and prototyping projects. This is to enable the local R&D ecosystem to benefit from the first system level solution dedicated to power and thermal issues.

Powered by ARCSIS (Association for the Research on Components and Secured Integrated Systems) CIM PACA Design Platform has two main objectives:

Establish R&D collaborative projects between companies and academic research laboratories in the field of communicating integrated system design, and

Provide access to state of the art design and RF measurement tools to platform members for R&D collaborative projects and their own innovative development.

Sylvian Kaiser, CTO, Docea Power commented: „We have an active R&D partnership with the University of Nice where we are engaged in a collaborative program on high level models for low power systems. We aim to extend this partnership to the local ecosystem of companies through the CIM PACA programs.“

„We have in the region companies and R&D labs that are at the forefront of innovation for the design of wireless, networking and for the connected home chipsets. A common point of many designs is how to optimize power at the architectural level,“ said Pierre Bricaud, managing director for CIM PACA. „It is our mission within the CIM PACA cluster to provide tools that can support the most innovative projects of our members. Docea Power-s Aceplorer fits very well with this mission.“

The Sophia Antipolis area is one of the most dynamic regions in Europe with regards to semiconductor design and chip architecture, with a mix of large companies, startups and labs.

develops and commercializes a new generation of methodology and tools for enabling faster more reliable power and thermal modeling at the system level. Based on its platform, the Docea Power solution uses a consistent approach for executing architecture exploration and optimizing power and thermal behavior of electronic systems at an early stage of an electronic design project. Founded in 2006, the private company-s headquarters are near Grenoble, France, and sales offices are in the USA, Japan and Korea. For more information, please visit .

ARCSIS is the trade association for the microelectronics and semiconductor activities in the Provence-Alps-Riviera (PACA) region, in France. It participates in assuring sustainability, full economic development and enhanced competitiveness of the regional microelectronics and communicating objects industry. Its 52 members include industries as well as research centers and universities.

The CIM PACA Design Platform is organized as a nonprofit association, federated with two others Platforms (characterization and micro-packaging) by ARCSIS. This platform is located at Polytech-Nice-Sophia with state-of-the-art resources: hardware and EDA tools.
