Juni 08 09:31 2010

Jena, – June 2010: asphericon is presenting an extensive portfolio of products and services at this year-s Optatec, taking place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, from June 15 to 18, 2010. The star attraction will be the launch of asphericon-s ION-Finish™, a technology new to the market, which opens up a new dimension in processing aspherical surfaces.

asphericon ION-Finish™ is the first solution for ion-based processing of complex curved surfaces in optical components. It allows contour-errors to be corrected in a highly time-efficient manner and with optimum precision that exceeds current international standards. Unlike existing technology, this process can be applied to a wide variety of shapes and materials. What-s more, it employs contactless surface processing and leaves no unnecessary processing residues.

Another highlight of the show will be the unveiling of the asphericon Coating division-s new services. By including coating services in its offering, asphericon has taken a definitive step towards becoming a one-stop shop for optical components. Utilizing the state-of-the-art line of vacuum coating systems, a team of technicians with many years of experience and an optimally equipped testing and measuring lab, asphericon guarantees reliable coating services, repeatable at any time. The catalog of offerings will include, among other things, anti-reflective coatings, high-precision reflective coatings, short and long pass filters and mirror refinements. The product range will be supplemented by the asphericon fast-lane express service, guaranteeing our customers coatings within 48 or 24 hours.

asphericon will be presenting these and other new products in Booth C22 at Optatec 2010. We also invite you to attend our presentation at the Optatec exhibitor forum, „More than precise: The application of ION-Finish™ for aspherical optics,“ at 12:30 p.m. on June 17, 2010.
