In the future, Berner & Mattner will be more involved in the development of new tools for the Automotive Open System Architecture (AUTOSAR) being an active member (contributing member) of the AUTOSAR tool platform (Artop). The community, open for all AUTOSAR partners, is aiming at offering all basic functionalities required for designing and creating AUTOSAR development tools via its platform, including the source code.
Berner & Mattner, actively involved in the AUTOSAR tool platform (Artop), will be a driving force for the design and rollout of new development tools for the Automotive Open System Architecture (AUTOSAR), together with other renowned core developers. The specialist for model-based testing thus contributes to a faster implementation of AUTOSAR requirements in new products helping establish and comply with relevant standards more consistently. AUTOSAR is a development partnership between car manu-facturers and suppliers of ECUs, ECU software and microcontrollers. Using standardized architectures and description and configuration formats, AUTOSAR is aiming at simplifying the exchange of software on various ECUs.
Membership strengthens AUTOSAR …
Being a member of the Artop community, founded by BMW Car IT, Berner & Mattner-s objective is to further develop and improve the entire tool platform in compliance with AUTOSAR using a roadmap and performing regular updates. With this contribution, Berner & Mattner increases its own AUTOSAR competence helping the developer community meet the AUTOSAR requirements faster. As contributing member, the company provides in-house developments and know-how. In this way, Berner & Mattner ensures that the functionalities provided in Artop (e.g. XML Parser, code generators) are continuously improved and reach an AUTOSAR-compliant quality faster and more reliably than in the past.
… and the development of automotive embedded systems
In return, Berner & Mattner benefits from the contribution made by other members. Moreover, Berner & Mattner is able to design and optimize AUTOSAR products more efficiently in-house resulting in an accelerated time-to-market. The increased efficiency leads to a win-win-situation for all members of the Artop community.
Driving crucial improvements
„Our platform MESSINA is a role model for driving AUTOSAR-compliant improvements with Artop like in the field of consistent model-based tests of ECUs. These improvements are already used by our customers“, describes Torsten Schultz from Berner & Mattner the benefits for car manufacturers and suppliers.
