VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — (Marketwire) — 10/13/11 — Zone Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE: ZNR)(FRANKFURT: 7ZR) (Zone) is pleased to announce the discovery of a further 6 kilometer zone of magnetite iron formation and the expansion of the Girard Property by the staking of an additional 30 claims. The Girard Property is located in the Labrador Trough of Northern Quebec.
An extensive magnetite zone was discovered by the ground-checking of a magnetic anomaly located at the extreme edge of the recently completed airborne magnetic survey. The new magnetite zone is exposed in a series of steep escarpments over a length of approximately 6 kilometres. Full widths were not exposed, but in the two best developed outcrops, the thickness of the magnetite zone was observed to be in excess of 60 metres.
The Girard Property now encompasses a minimum of eleven discrete magnetic anomalies. The majority have been found to correspond to magnetite iron formations and have an aggregate strike length of over 65 kilometres.
Zone-s Labrador Trough Iron Properties now total 918 claims covering approximately 105,660 acres.
Diamond drilling is continuing on the Moore iron property 60 kilometres northwest of the Girard Property.
