On the basis of the single-pole round connector 16BV, Multi-Contact has developed a shielded plug connector as a customer-specific solution. The 16BV has proved its worth in many years of service in test facilities, emergency power supplies and switching installations. The new plug connector 16BV-GS is suitable for power supply systems with a frequency inverter, such as for the operation of 3-phase motors. The continuous shielding gives reliable protection from electromagnetic influences. The 16BV-GS with captive protective caps is designed for use under rugged conditions. It is touch-protected when in the unmated state. A secure connection is ensured by the bayonet fixing and colour coding. An optional microswitch signals whether the plug is mated. Cable cross-sections of 120 – 240mm² can be connected. The high-quality screwed gland makes dependable contact with the cable shield without damaging it.
