MiCSIM – this is the way to design feedback controllers today!

Munich, February 19, 2013:
With the web-based and free to use PID-Simulator MiCSIM, ExpertControl revolutionized processes for development and trainings in the field of modeling dynamic systems and designing feedback controllers yet. At www.data2model.com, MiCSIM provides a user friendly environment to simulate and display the behavior of dynamic systems without registration processes or costs. Since the beginning of 2013, MiCSIM comes with improved functionality and provides functions for automatic design of feedback controllers. By a one button-click solution, ExpertControl proves again its technology leadership in the field of commercial tool providers for system identification and feedback control design.
Simulation with MiCSIM means having ready-to-use system structures and individual transfer functions to simulate dynamic systems as easy as possible. But not only modeling of dynamic systems is a complex task: Designing feedback controllers which yield desired behavior needs a lot of expert knowledge and time. With ExpertControl´s professional software ecICP, tasks like “system identification” and “model based control design” can be handled within few moments. Now, the web-based PID-Simulator MiCSIM took these algorithms to be the most powerful web-based simulation environment for dynamic systems. MiCSIM is now able to design feedback controllers automatically, by only entering the plant model parameters and time values defining the desired setpoint and disturbance transition times of the closed control loop. Results of the controller design are offered as a 2 steps process. In the first and free step, the closed-loop behavior based on the calculated controller will be simulated and results are shown graphically in MiCSIM. This allows testing the controller calculated by MiCSIM under different conditions within the simulation environment. In case the closed-loop dynamic is not as desired and the control loop is required to be faster or slower, the automatic calculation process can be repeated with new transition time values – as often as needed. Step 2 allows downloading the desired controller including calculated controller structure, controller parameters, setpoint filter and filter parameters for direct use in e.g. MATLAB / Simulink. The price to get this optimal controller and optimal setpoint filter is very attractive at just 345 Euro per desired controller.
